GLEE is heading to the bookstore in a new novel series, according to Entertainment Weekly's Shelf Life.

EW reports: "After last night’s Glee finale, you probably thought some of the mania would die down for a bit? Not a chance. Shelf Life has learned that Little, Brown Books for Young Readers has struck a deal with Twentieth Century Fox to publish a line of official Glee-related books. (There are Glee books aplenty out there, but they are all unauthorized.) Little, Brown has multiple book projects in the works for its Glee program; the first to roll off the press will be an original novel called Glee: The Beginning. This prequel to the show, which includes a double-sided poster, will hit stores this August."

The second season of GLEE will premiere this September in a new 8:00pm timeslot on Tuesday nights.

Winner of the People's Choice Award for Best New Comedy and Golden Globe winner for Best Television Series (Comedy or Musical), GLEE, the new musical comedy series, follows an optimistic teacher who - against all odds and a malicious cheerleading coach - attempts to save McKinley High's Glee Club from obscurity while helping a group of aspiring underdogs realize their true star potential.

The show, which also garnered Golden Globe recognition, stars Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Jessalyn Gilsig, Jane Lynch, Jayma Mays, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, Amber Riley, Mark Salling and Jenna Ushkowitz. It has featured many Broadway stars in guest or recurring roles, among them Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Neil Patrick Harris. GLEE's season finale aired yesterday, June 8 at 9pm on FOX.

GLEE is produced by Ryan Murphy Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are co-creators of the series. Murphy, Falchuk and Dante di Loreto serve as executive producers, while Ian Brennan serves as co-executive producer.
