GENERAL HOSPITAL Honored With 5 Daytime Emmys

The Disney/ABC Television Group received 9 Daytime Emmy Awards at the 39th Annual Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy Awards presented yesterday, June 17th.

ABC's GENERAL HOSPITAL received five Daytime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Promotional Announcement - Episodic for the "Brenda Wedding" & "Kidnapping" episodes; Outstanding Original Song for a Drama Series; Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design For a Drama Series; Outstanding Achievement for a Casting Director For A Drama Series and Outstanding Achievement in Technical Direction/Electronic Camera/Video Control for a Drama Series.

"One Life to Live" was honored with the Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Direction For a Drama Series.

"All My Children" received two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Multiple Camera Editing For a Drama Series as well as the only category which resulted in a tie amongst voters - Outstanding Achievement in Live & Direct To Tape Sound Mixing For a Drama Series, an honor which they share with CBS's "The Young and the Restless."

Disney Channel's "The Time I...(Shoes)" was honored with a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Special Class Short Format Daytime.

Hosted by Byron Allen, the 39th Annual Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy Awards were presented June 17th at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.
