FremantleMedia North America Bolsters Its Unscripted Executive Team With Leading Industry Talent  Image

FremantleMedia NORTH AMERICA (FMNA) has expanded their unscripted team promoting Joni Day to SVP, Alternative Programming & Development, it was announced today by Jayson Dinsmore, President of Alternative Programming & Development. In addition, they have hired Colin Nash as SVP, of Alternative Programming & Development and Jean Shi as Vice President, Alternative Programming & Development.

Joni Day has been with FremantleMedia for the past five years, overseeing development and production of reality competition, game show and other unscripted television programming. In her new Senior Vice President role at FMNA, she will focus on finding further global formats for broadcast to join the ranks of FMNA's already widely popular programming, such as AMERICAN IDOL and America's Got Talent.

Additionally, seasoned television executive Colin Nash has been hired as Senior Vice President, Alternative Programming & Development, and will focus on streaming and digital partners to expand FremantleMedia's already wide portfolio. With extensive development and production experience, Nash joins FMNA from MTV, where he shepherded many brand-defining hits.

Rounding out the team, Jean Shi was named VP, Alternative Programming & Development, where she will be responsible for developing and selling original unscripted series, with a focus on global formats for cable, and an emphasis on attracting the best talent to attach to each project.

"Each of these individuals comes with a diverse background and brings a unique skill set to the table that complements our goal of creating entertaining and compelling content for every platform."

Day has been with FMNA since 2013, where she has been responsible for the development and production of reality competition, game show and other unscripted television programming. Day is currently serving as an Executive Producer for FMNA's new kids' game show, The Noise, which airs on Universal Kids. She is also an Executive Producer on the game show re-boot of Beat the Clock, which premiered on Universal Kids early this quarter. During her time at FMNA, Day has also played an integral role in the development and launch of series such as The Great Christmas Light Fight, MATCH GAME and To Tell the Truth. Prior to coming to FMNA, Day received Emmy Award nominations for her work on both SHARK TANK and The Voice.

Nash is a television executive and producer who most recently served as Senior Vice President of Unscripted Development and Series at MTV. Nash oversaw some of MTV's biggest franchises such as True Life, The Real World and The Challenge, while also developing new groundbreaking content for the network. He shepherded MTV's first investigative series, Unlocking the Truth, which influenced the release of a wrongfully convicted man from prison, the docu-series comedy Buckwild, and the behind-the-scenes music documentary with Rory Kramer, Dare to Live, which starred music acts such as The Chainsmokers, Iggy Azalea, Rae Sremmurd, & Steve Aoki. Previously, Nash was an independent producer with an instrumental role in MTV's breakout hits The Hills, Laguna Beach, and The City. Throughout his career, Nash has produced for a variety of networks including ABC, The CW, VH1, TLC and The WB.

Shi is an executive with extensive experience in development and production across all genres of television. She most recently served as Senior Vice President, Development at Invent Media. Shi also spent three years in the NBCUniversal group at Oxygen Media where she shepherded series such as Pretty.Strong., Douglas Family Gold, Strut, Battle of the Ex-Besties, Last Squad Standing and Three Days to Live, among others. Previously, she had stints at GRB Entertainment, Lion Television (All3Media) and Painless Productions.
