Freeform & espnW to Celebrate Girl Power with 'Boss Girls' Programming Event This July

Freeform honors glorious girls and their kick-butt boldness with a three-day "Boss Girls" programming event, starting FRIDAY, JULY 22, with the FreeForm premiere of "10 Things I Hate About You" and continuing through SUNDAY, JULY 24. From child geniuses to teenage warriors, from determined singers to perky lawyers, there's nothing these girls can't do!

In association with espnW and from ABC's Lincoln Square Productions, FreeForm will air interstitials throughout the programming event highlighting three athletes discussing their passions on and off the field, along with their personal and professional struggles from being marginalized in their chosen sport to being at the top of their game.

First is Mariah Stackhouse, a 22-year-old golfer from outside Atlanta. Stackhouse started golfing at age two and was winning trophies by age six, using clubs her father created. She's won 97 tournaments so far and tied her idol Tiger Woods' record at Stanford University, where she received a degree in communications, taking "one shot at a time."

Sasha DiGiulian is a record-breaking 23-year-old rock climber from Colorado and one of espnW's "Voices of the Furture," who in 2012 became the first American woman to climb grade 9a. In 2015, she also became the first woman to free climb Magic Mushroom (7c+), one of the most difficult routes of the Swiss Alps, on The Eiger north face trail. While her passion is climbing, the Columbia graduate calls New York City home, embracing the challenges of making it there as ferociously as she scales mountains.

Nicknamed "The Humbler," Samarria Brevard is a 22-year-old skateboarder from Brooklyn whose low-key demeanor obscures a dominant skater, and whose takedowns of competitors -- male and female -- are legendary. Brevard is an X GAMES Skateboard Street competitor who won the Kimberley Diamond Cup in 2014. She is actively working to bring more girls into her sport, knowing firsthand how excelling in the face of great odds has made a difference in her life.

All three believe in empowering other women to live their lives to the full potential, BREAKING BARRIERS along the way. Failures are credited as much as victories in defining their success and are examples of what can be accomplished in life.

Friday, July 22
(7:00 - 9:00 p.m. EDT) FREAKY FRIDAY (2003)
Strict mother Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her wild daughter Anna (Lindsay Lohan) swap bodies after opening mysterious fortune cookies. The two must figure out how to switch back, while pretending to be the other. "Freaky Friday" repeats on Saturday, July 23 at 9:45 a.m. EDT.

(9:00 - 11:00 p.m. EDT) 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU - FreeForm PREMIERE
A twist on the Shakespeare classic "The Taming of the Shrew," the story follows new student Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), who wants to ask out cute girl BIANCA (Larisa Oleynik). But BIANCA can't date until her ill-tempered older sister Kat (Julia Stiles) does. So Cameron enlists "bad boy" Patrick (Heath Ledger) to woo Kat for Cameron's sake. "10 Things I Hate About You" repeats on Saturday, July 23 at 7:30 a.m. EDT.

Saturday, July 23
(12:00 - 2:15 p.m. EDT) MATILDA
Matilda (Mara Wilson) is an extraordinary girl, a child of wondrous intelligence. Unfortunately, her neglectful parents, Harry and Zinnia Wormwood (Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman), are too wrapped up in their own little lives to care, or even to notice that their daughter is a budding genius. "Matilda" repeats on Sunday, July 24 at 9:30 a.m. EDT.

(2:15 - 5:30 p.m. EDT) THE HUNGER GAMES
Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson). "The Hunger Games" repeats on Sunday, July 24 at 11:45 a.m. EDT.

(5:30 - 9:00 p.m. EDT) THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE
Against all odds, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and her fellow tribute Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) have returned home after surviving the Hunger Games. Winning means they must turn around, leaving their loved ones behind and embark on a "Victory Tour" through the districts. Along the way, Katniss senses a rebellion simmering - one that she and Peeta may have sparked. At the end of the Victory Tour, President Snow announces a deadly 75th Hunger Games that could change Panem forever. "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" repeats on Sunday, July 24 at 3:00 p.m. EDT.

(9:00 - 11:30 p.m. EDT) PITCH PERFECT
Arriving at her new college, Beca (Anna Kendrick) finds herself not right for any clique but somehow is muscled into one that she never would have picked on her own: alongside mean girls, sweet girls and weird girls whose only thing in common is how good they sound when they sing together. When Beca leads this a cappella singing group out of their traditional arrangement and perfect harmonies into all-new mash-ups, they fight to climb their way to the top of the college music competitions. "Pitch Perfect" is an outrageously hilarious laugh-out-loud comedy that also stars Anna Camp ("The Help"), Brittany Snow ("Hairspray") and Rebel Wilson ("Bridesmaids"). (9:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. EDT) BLIND SIDE
Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron), a homeless black teen, has drifted in and out of the school system for years. When Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) and her husband Sean (Tim McGraw), take him in, the Tuohys eventually become Michael's legal guardians transforming both his life and theirs. Michael's tremendous size and protective instincts make him a formidable force on the gridiron, and with help from his new family and devoted tutor, he realizes his potential as a student and football player.
