Veteran creative executive Richard Eng has been named vice president, Creative, Branding and Design, Freeform, it was announced today by Tricia Melton, senior vice president, Marketing, Creative and Branding, Freeform, to whom he will report.
Under Melton's leadership, Eng will drive the development of creative campaigns on multiple platforms including overseeing on-air and off-air creative and design, as well as manage the network's brand identity. He will also work in conjunction with the FreeForm Social Media team on the development and execution of creative content for social media campaigns.
"We are excited to have Richard join our creative team and bring his extensive experience and unique approach to branding and design to Freeform," said Melton. "His distinct style and fresh sensibility are an excellent fit for the network as we continue to establish our brand promise, 'a little forward.'"
Prior to Freeform, Eng was an executive creative director at Loyalkaspar in Los Angeles. During his time there he was involved with the overall vision, strategy and business development at the company, working on projects such as the launch of POP, a rebrand of the Peabody Awards, a redesign of The CW, brand strategy for Bleacher Report and a launch campaign for AMC's "Feed the Beast."
Eng has also held many creative and design positions for such companies as Huge Inc., Digital Kitchen, Nickelodeon, Blind, Inc., Charlex, Fuel, Troika Design Group, Nick@Nite, 30,000 Ft., Manhattan Transfer and Oven Digital. At these different positions, he worked with high profile clients such as MoMA, HarperCollins, SciFi, TNT, CBS Sports, Showtime, Ford, ABC, ESPN, Best Buy, MTV, JPMorgan Chase, AT&T, Charles Schwab and Walmart.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in American history from Brandeis University and a Master of professional studies in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
