Seth Meyers is bringing along a fellow SNL alum to 'LATE NIGHT.'
Meyers, taking over NBC's second late night show later this month, confirmed today that his former castmate Fred Armisen will lead the show's band.
Meyers tweeted with the photo to the left: @LateNightSeth: "RT @SethMeyers Here's the first photo of the new @LateNightSeth band! #8GBand"
He followed it up with: "Fred will curate and lead the band, and continue to run it even when he's off shooting Portlandia. #8GBand"
Prior to focusing on his comedy/acting career, Armisen was the drummer for the rock band Trenchmouth.
LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS premieres Monday, Feb. 24 on NBC.
Meyers, who is "Saturday Night Live's" longest serving anchor on the show's wildly popular "Weekend Update," takes over as host of NBC's "Late Night" - home to A-list celebrity guests, memorable comedy and the best in musical talent.
As the Emmy Award-winning head writer for "SNL," Meyers has established a reputation for sharp wit and perfectly timed comedy, and has gained fame for his spot-on jokes and satire. Meyers takes his departure from "SNL" to his new post at "Late Night," as Jimmy Fallon moves to The Tonight Show.Videos
