AMBI Pictures principals Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi today announced that Peter Stormare ("Fargo," "22 Jump Street," "The Big Labowski"), Kerry Bishé ("Argo," "Sex and the City"), Lesley Manville ("Maleficent," "Mr. Turner," "Another Year") and Ari Millen ("Orphan Black," "Exit Humanity," "12 Monkeys") have been cast in the sci-fi adventure thriller "Rupture," starring Noomi Rapace ("Prometheus," "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows," "The Drop") and Michael Chiklis ("Fantastic Four," "The Shield").
"Rupture" is a science-fiction thriller about a single mother (Rapace) abducted by a terrifying and mysterious organization who reveal to her that humanity faces an unsettling threat from within.
Production begins today in Toronto, Canada.
Iervolino and Bacardi ("The Humbling," "In Dubious Battle" "All Roads Lead to Rome") who own and run the movie development, finance, production and distribution group AMBI, are teaming with "American Sniper" producer Andrew Lazar and his Tango Pictures Production banner to produce the film. Tango is a partnership between Christina Weiss Lurie, Steven Shainberg, and Lazar. Christina Weiss Lurie ("Inside Job," "Adam," "Broken English"), will serve as producer as well.
Steven Shainberg ("Secretary") is directing the film, which is based on a story by he and Brian Nelson ("Hard Candy," "30 Days of Night," "Devil"). Nelson wrote the screenplay.
AMBI Distribution, the worldwide sales arm of AMBI Group is handling worldwide sales.

Lady Monika Bacardi is the widow of Luis Adalberto Facundo Gomez del Campo Bacardi, Lord of Bayfield Hall, known as Lord Luis Bacardi (descendent of the Bacardi founder, still a family-run company). Renowned for her PASSION of modern art and love of photography and movies, Monika Bacardi is a highly successful businesswoman who is now committed to producing films, through AMBI, on top of her numerous philanthropic activities.
AMBI Group is active in the distribution of various movie projects in Italy and throughout the world through its satellite company AI Entertainment, a company Iervolino founded in 2011. Iervolino still runs this operation as well as several movie production and distribution companies in Italy, Spain and Canada.
