Food Network announced today it will go live Sunday, November 18th, with a cross-platform Choose Your Side experience, offering Thanksgiving recipes, tips and inspiration across the brand's linear and digital properties including Facebook Live, on-air programming and digital series Food Network Finds. Choose Your Side marks the official start for Food Network's Thanksgiving week special feature, Feast Week, which is full of Thanksgiving-themed content from viewers' favorite Food Network personalities.
"Food Network recipes and content have always been a favorite for viewers, especially around the holidays," said Vikki Neil, executive vice president and general manager of Discovery Digital Studios. "This year's Feast Week and Choose Your Side event is a must-watch, with even more hours of entertainment and easy-to-follow tips and recipes, making Food Network the one-stop-shop for all things Thanksgiving."
Choose Your Side kicks off at 10:00am ET with Food Network Kitchen's Vivian Chan going live to nearly 30 million followers on Facebook. Chan will show viewers how to make all of turkey's favorite sidekicks in one sheet pan. That means minimal prep and very little cleanup, which is perfect for a small Thanksgiving gathering.
At 12:00pm ET, Bev Weidner, host of Food Network's new Facebook Watch series Pressure Point, will put her spin on a Thanksgiving potato side dish we've all come to love. Bev will teach viewers her recommended way to spruce up the popular dish that will leave guests wanting more.
Two-time Chopped champion James Briscione will be live at 2:00pm ET to show viewers how he reinvents the entire side dish game with his Thanksgiving Bacon Roulade. This mashup of a green bean casserole and Thanksgiving stuffing is wrapped in a fan favorite - bacon! James can also be seen in all-new digital series,Undercooked, with new episodes available weekly on Facebook Watch and the Food Network GO app."
At 3:30pm ET, Food Network's Alex Guarnaschelli will inspire fans for their Thanksgiving gatherings by demonstrating a favorite Thanksgiving side dish that viewers can easily make at home.
A famous bakery in Boston takes the stage at 6:00pm ET to demonstrate how to make classic pull-apart Thanksgiving rolls.
A good meal always ends in dessert, and Dan Langan, host of Dan Can Bake It, has a special surprise. At9:00pm ET, Langan will top off the day with a giant cake that looks like a Thanksgiving side dish but is actually a sweet treat to finish off the meal.
On-air, viewers can enjoy Thanksgiving-themed episodes of daytime favorites including Girl Meets Farm at 11am, Giada's Holiday Handbook at 11:30am, and all-new series Martina's Table at 12pm. In primetime,Martha Stewart hosts holiday special Macy's Thanksgiving Cake Spectacular premiering at 8pm. Then, at 9pm catch the finale of Ultimate Thanksgiving Challenge, when host Giada De Laurentiis, and judges Alex Guarnaschelli, Carla Hall and Christian Petroni determine which chef heads into the holiday with the $25,000 grand prize and bragging rights.
