Food Network Brings Tricks & Treats in October Schedule

Food Network brings the tricks and treats this October with new Primetime series, premiere episodes of fan-favorite series and an all-star tournament. Host Jesse Palmer kicks off the month with new series Food Truck Face Off on Thursday, October 2nd at 8pm, as four talented teams share their culinary dreams before a panel of judges, culminating in a food truck showdown to decide who will win their very own food truck for a year.

Then, Primetime gets spooky with a new season of Halloween Wars Sunday, October 5th at 9pm, when five teams made up of an expert pumpkin carver, a cake decorator and a sugar artist create the most spine-tingling, mind-blowing Halloween-themed displays in hopes of being crowned Halloween Wars champion and earning a $50,000 grand prize.

On Wednesday, October 8th at 9:00pm, host Alton Brown provides the tricks with the premiere of the Cutthroat Kitchen: Superstar Sabotage tournament, as sixteen star chefs battle it out to compete for the chance at up to $75,000 for their favorite charity, with challenges that will test the most cunning of culinary superstars.

The treats continue Monday, October 20th at 8pm with the premiere of new series Hungry Games, in which Richard Blais uses fun hidden camera experiments and man-on-the-street taste tests to uncover the unsuspecting psychology and Science about food. Also in Primetime are new episodes of Beat Bobby Flay, Chopped, Guy's Grocery Games, Mystery Diners and Rewrapped.

In daytime, Damaris Phillips returns to bring her brand of Southern Charm and cooking back to the lineup with a new season of Southern at Heart on Sunday, October 26th at 12:00pm. October also brings premieres of Farmhouse Rules, The Kitchen, The Pioneer Woman and Trisha's Southern Kitchen. Plus, FoodNetwork.com is the destination for Halloween entertaining, including recipes for creepy cocktails, spooky snacks and savory spreads along with macabre menus and much, much, more. Beat Bobby Flay

  • Premiering Thursday, October 2nd at 10pm - "Against All Odds"

Crab Claw King, Andy Saintange, stands against tattooed butcher, Bruce Kalman, in the battle of the big men. Chopped judges Scott Conant and Geoffrey Zakarian will decide which chef gets the chance to take down Bobby in his own backyard.

  • Premiering Thursday, October 9th at 10pm - "Sun Up to Show Down"

Sunny Anderson and Katie Lee step out of The Kitchen to determine whether muscle man Mychael Bonner or old-school Italian chef Anna Maria Santorelli has what it takes to take on Bobby Flay.

  • Premiering Thursday, October 16th at 10pm - "Only in New York"

Chefs Alex Guarnaschelli and Michael Symon join forces to find a competitor to take down their fellow Iron Chef, Bobby Flay. Tensions erupt as titan Daniel Holzman dukes it out with fellow New York chef Palak Patel for a chance to show Bobby what's good in the concrete jungle.

  • Premiering Thursday, October 23rd at 10pm - "Orange is the New Beat" - HALLOWEEN EPISODE!

The Kitchen's Geoffrey Zakarian and Jeff Mauro are playing the tricks and culinary instructor James Gillespie and restaurateur Rob Maffucci are serving the treats. Only one will survive to battle Bobby in a Halloween trip into the arena.

  • Premiering Thursday, October 30th at 10pm - "An International Affair"

Chopped's Ted Allen and Amanda Freitag stop by the arena with one goal in mind: Beat Bobby Flay! Italian-born chef Patrick D'Andrea takes on Canadian chef Rob Feenie for the chance to stare down the master.

Chopped

  • Premiering Tuesday, October 8th at 8pm - "Big Hitters"

Four chefs from America's baseball stadiums arrive in the Chopped Kitchen hoping to be big hitters! In the first basket, they find some typical game-day eats, including Italian sausage. Then in the second round, the chefs are pleased to see a beautiful flank steak. In the dessert round, the judges hope that the desserts are delicious, down to the last blueberry.

  • Premiering Tuesday, October 14th at 10pm - "Mummies and Gummies" - HALLOWEEN EPISODE!

In the first basket, a freaky gummy and a funny mummy hit on the Halloween theme. In the second round, the chefs find some awfully scary offal and some more gummy goodness. When the final round rolls around, the remaining two chefs are left spinning about what to do with spider webs made with pretzels and Blue cheese.

  • Premiering Tuesday, October 21st at 10pm - "Offal Surprise"

The chefs set out to utilize ramen in a creative way in their appetizer dishes. Then in the entree round, an offal surprise in the baskets is a source of jokes for the judges and stress for the competitors. A New England treat in the dessert basket might make the final two chefs shout for joy, but can they combine it successfully with the other three ingredients in the basket?

  • Premiering Tuesday, October 28th at 10pm - "Haricot Flair"

It is no time for monkeying around when banana blossoms are found in the Chopped basket in the appetizer round! The three chefs who make it to the entree round must work with a notoriously stinky ingredient. Will a colorful ingredient in the last basket prompt the finalists to sprinkle a little fun on to their desserts?

  • Premiering Sunday, October 5th at 10pm - "SaBOOtage" - HALLOWEEN EPISODE!

In this special Halloween episode, one chef pays a heavy price for a deal with the devil. Later, a chef digs out of the grave, while another does all the cooking over a hell flame

  • Premiering Sunday, October 12th at 10pm - "Here's Looking at You, Squid"

Elbows are the perfect pastas for macaroni, so one chef uses a metal plumbing elbow to do all of their cooking. One chef must play ring toss for their calamari rings, while another chef gets the jitters trying to use a coffee maker to make coffee cake.

  • Premiering Sunday, October 19th at 10:30pm - "Chip Off the ol' Baklava"

Three chefs receive a special delivery and must rummage through boxes to get their cookware. Next, a chef gets chippy when they have to use tortilla chips as their only tools. Then, a chef finds himself in a sticky situation when they harvest all their ingredients out of a giant pot of honey.

  • Premiering Sunday, October 26th at 10:00pm - "The Undertater"

One chef tries to outrun a giant boulder of aluminum foil, while two chefs put aside their differences and cook for each other. Finally, a chef loses all of their ingredients and must play a memory game to get them back.

Cutthroat Kitchen: Superstar Sabotage - Premiering Wednesday, October 8th at 9:00pm

Sixteen of the food world's bravest celebrities will mercilessly sabotage each other as they battle it out in an epic, five episode tournament of culinary cage-fighting under the watchful eye of host, Alton Brown. Ultimately the most cunning and skillful star chef will emerge battered, but victorious, with the ultimate in bragging rights and up to $75,000 for their favorite charity. Chefs Susan Feniger, Jeff Mauro, Michael Psilakis and Aarti Sequeira Face Off in the first heat of the Cutthroat Kitchen: Superstar Sabotage. The chefs will face sabotages including a treadmill station, a hammer carnival game and cooking in a conveyor toaster.

  • Premiering Wednesday, October 15th at 9:00pm - "Superstar Sabotage: Heat Two"

Chefs Nadia G, Brian Malarkey, Marcel Vigneron and Justin Warner face sabotages including a very high prep table, cooking in a popcorn machine and getting a hand stuck in a cookie jar in before one makes it to the Grand Finale.

  • Premiering Wednesday, October 22nd at 9:00pm - "Superstar Sabotage: Heat Three"

Chefs Anne Burrell, Eric Greenspan, Johnny Iuzzini and Damaris Phillips battle each other and sabotages including a floating prep station, holding hands with another chef around The Kitchen and having their mixing and cooking vessels replaced by lemons.

  • Premiering Wednesday, October 29th at 9:00pm - "Superstar Sabotage: Heat Four"

There is only one more spot in the Superstar Sabotage finale and chefs Melissa d'Arabian, Elizabeth Falkner, Alex Guarnaschelli and Fabio Viviani each think they have what it takes to get there. But first, they will be faced with sabotages including gambling for ingredients, swapping their knives and utensils for tools made from cheese and cooking in banana leaves.

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives

  • Premiering Friday, October 3rd at 10pm - "Small Town Standouts"

This trip, Guy hits up some small towns with big flavor. In Parkland, Wisconsin, Guy visits a roadside bar serving sandwiches stuffed with delicious brisket and crispy pork belly. Then it is on to Jackson, Wyoming, to sample an organic spot that whips up ethnic-inspired eats, like the Asian bison bowl and Thai curry soup. Finally, in Lancaster, Oregon, Guy pops over to a farmland favorite firing up a monster burger and a unique twist on pizza.

  • Premiering Friday, October 10th at 10pm - "One Street Wonders"

This trip, Guy heads to Cincinnati to three righteous restaurants all sitting pretty on one street. First, Guy visits a funky pub where a husband/wife duo dishes out all kinds of creative hot dogs and sammies. Then, Guy gets a taste of Europe with a Belgian spot cooking up waffles and beer cheese pretzels. Finally, Guy travels to a Southwestern spot serving up short rib tacos and a yummy chicken torta.

Food Truck Face Off - Premiering Thursday, October 2nd at 8pm

Four talented teams compete to make their culinary dreams come true by winning their very own customized food truck for a year on new series Food Truck Face Off. On each of the 13 episodes, hosted by Jesse Palmer, four teams present their unique food truck concepts to an expert panel of judges. Based on the viability and quality of their ideas, two teams will be selected to Face Off in an intense two-day showdown. The team that earns the most will drive away with the grand prize

  • Premiering Thursday, October 2nd at 8pm - "Showdown on South Congress" - SERIES PREMIERE!

Host Jesse Palmer hits the streets of Austin, Texas, with two teams of food truck wannabes who duke it out for their very own food truck. On day one, one team wrestles with flavors and fryers while the other proves their concept promises more than it delivers. On day two, the teams are up against rain and parked alongside established food trucks at a popular venue.

  • Premiering Thursday, October 9th at 8pm - "Brawl in Bayfront Park"

Four teams with food truck concepts pitch their ideas to a panel of judges who deem two worthy enough to test their fare on the streets of Miami, Florida. The teams face a steep learning curve filled with missing flavor and chaotic service on day one, while day two finds one team finding their groove while the other is barely holding on. Both will have to pull out all the stops and make every dollar count if they want Jesse Palmer to hand over the keys to their dream!

  • Premiering Thursday, October 16th at 8pm - "Venice Beach Battle"

From the streets of Los Angeles, host Jesse Palmer unleashes a two day culinary battle between food truck hopefuls. Day one finds one team in fights with customers and the judges, while the other learns that dreams do not always deliver the best dish. On day two, menu fixes and game changes are served up alongside established food trucks, but will they be enough to pull ahead and drive home the prize?

  • Premiering Thursday, October 23rd at 8pm - "Charnow Park Chowdown"

The judges have a tough choice deciding which two teams of food truck wannabes should fight it out in Miami, Florida. Host Jesse Palmer takes the teams through their paces over the two sell days, with manic driving and panic prep fails on day one, and increased competition on day two.

  • Premiering Thursday, October 30th at 8pm - "South Pasadena Truck Off"

Jesse Palmer is in Los Angeles to see which food truck dreamers have what it takes to win their own customized truck for one year. On day one, the newbies learn a love of cooking is not enough to get through the hazards of running a truck, while day two offers little relief when both teams have to compete against not just each other, but also established food trucks for a busy dinner service outside the Farmers' Market.

Guy's Grocery Games

  • Premiering Sunday, October 5th at 8pm - "Aisle of Terror" - HALLOWEEN EPISODE!

In this spooktastic Halloween episode, four chefs must create dishes that do not scare the judges! Creating a hearty lunch is no easy feat when Guy shocks them with a daunting Red Light Special. In the next game, Guy tricks the chefs into making a savory treat with sweets in Single Aisle Showdown. In the final game, Guy hands the chefs his Grocery List filled with spooky items like bone marrow, blood orange and black garlic. Which chef will get to go on the Shopping Spree, and which will be scared straight out of the grocery store?

  • Premiering Sunday, October 12th at 8pm - "Pasta La Vista, Baby"

With pasta out of reach, can these four chefs make a winning dish in Single Aisle Showdown? Next up, it is an all-you-can-carry challenge as the chefs grab ingredients for their barbecue feast in No Carts Allowed. And in the final twist, the two remaining chefs must make a dessert using One Ingredient Per Aisle. The winning chef makes a final run through Flavortown to win up to $20,000!

  • Premiering Sunday, October 19th at 8pm - "Fan-Tastic Food"

The chefs are thrown into the deep end when asked to make a five-star seafood dinner using Five Ingredients or Less. Next, the chefs play a new game inspired by an online fan, and lasagna will never be the same! With only two chefs remaining, winning is not as easy as ABC when they try to make their ultimate burger.

  • Premiering Sunday, October 26th at 8pm - "Not Going to Budge It"

It is a clash of the coupons as four chefs attempt to make their best grilled dish in Budget Battle. Next, the chefs must make a decadent breakfast while incorporating the classic peanut butter and jelly combo. The last two chefs must make a Sunday supper using One Ingredient Per Aisle.

Halloween Wars

  • Premiering Sunday, October 5th at 9pm - "The Haunted Farm" - SEASON PREMIERE!

Halloween Wars returns for a fourth season, as five teams made up of an expert pumpkin carver, a cake decorator, and a sugar artist go to battle to create mind-blowing Halloween-themed displays, in hopes of winning the coveted title of Halloween Wars champion and a $50,000 grand prize. For the teams' first competition, they must capture all the freights of a terrifying haunted farm. In the end, one team will be eliminated. Includes special guest judge Naomi Grossman from American Horror Story: Asylum.

  • Premiering Sunday, October 12th at 9pm - "Don't Go Into The Forest"

The four remaining teams made up of an expert pumpkin carver, cake decorator and sugar artist compete to create mind-blowing Halloween-themed displays that evoke the dire warning: whatever you do, don't go into the forest! One team will be eliminated, leaving the three remaining teams one step closer to the $50,000 grand prize. Includes special guest judge Adi Shankar, film producer of The Grey and Dredd.

  • Premiering Sunday, October 19th at 9pm- "Mummies vs. Werewolves"

Three remaining teams made up of an expert pumpkin carver, cake decorator and sugar artist go head-to-head to create mind-blowing Halloween-themed displays that capture an epic battle between terror icons: Mummies vs. Werewolves! Which team will scare the judges the most? Special guest judge actor Francia Raisa, actress from The Secret Life of the American Teenager and the cult horror hit Chastity Bites, helps decide which teams move on to the final battle.

  • Premiering Sunday, October 26th at 9pm - "Haunted Carnival"

It all comes down to this epic, final battle. Two teams remain and will compete to create terrifying Halloween-themed displays that capture the twisted, demonic world of a haunted carnival. Only one team can take home the coveted Halloween Wars championship and a $50,000 grand prize. Horror actor Lew Temple, best known for his roles in hits like The Walking Dead and The Devil's Rejects, helps crown the winner.

Hungry Games - Premiering Monday, October 20th at 8pm - SERIES PREMIERE!

Hungry Games, hosted by chef and television personality Richard Blais, is a deliciously fascinating series that will change the way you think about food. Through a series of fun hidden camera experiments and man-on-the-street taste tests, the series uncovers what goes on when you taste, choose and crave your favorite foods. The psychology and Science behind our food decisions will surprise you!

Mystery Diners

  • Premiering Wednesday, October 1st at 9pm - "Vintage Scams"

Jimmy, owner of Rockabillies in Arvada, Colorado, is concerned about a dip in sales, especially during his restaurant's summer vintage car show. Charles sends in Mystery Diners Amber and Kyle to investigate and discovers that his staff is breaking multiple rules.

  • Premiering Monday, October 6th at 9pm - "Partner in Crime"

After noticing multiple register mistakes, Ondrea, owner of Black Rose Tavern in Los Angeles, fears that someone -- either on her staff, one of the musicians in her nonprofit charity, or her new business partner -- is taking advantage of her. Charles sends in Mystery Diners Amanda and Rob and discovers that someone is using her charity to line their pockets.

  • Premiering Monday, October 6th at 9:30pm - "Café Coup"

After purchasing Cafe Aldente in Studio City, California, and retaining most of the previous owner's staff, the new owners believe their employees are still practicing old policies. Charles sends in Mystery Diners Annalisa and Kiel to find out if anyone is ignoring the new rules.

  • Premiering Monday, October 13th at 9:00pm - "Daddy's Girl"

When Joe and Fran, owners of Geppino's Sicilian Kitchen in Moorpark, California, hear customer complaints about stolen items, Joe suspects their daughter's new boyfriend is to blame. Charles sends in Mystery Diners Shelby and Destiney to identify the real thief.

  • Premiering Monday, October 13th at 9:30pm - "Employee Discount"

Andy, owner of 55 Degree Wine and Link-n-Hops in Los Angeles, believes discrepancies at both his wine shop and restaurant are somehow related. Charles sends in Mystery Diners Destiney and Rob to investigate.

  • Premiering Monday, October 20th at 9:00pm - "Poaching Profits"

Fearing that someone on his staff is using restaurant supplies to operate a competing catering company, Lenny, the owner of Cookin' With Lenny Smokehouse in Los Angeles, contacts Charles for help. Mystery Diners Amanda and Kiel go undercover to find out what The Kitchen is really cooking.

  • Premiering Monday, October 20th at 9:30pm - "Missing Memorabilia"

The owners of Fenders Moto Cafe and Brew Pub in Portland, Oregon, call Charles when they notice some of their valuable motorcycle memorabilia has gone missing. Mystery Diners Shelby and Leslie go undercover to find out if any employees are responsible.

Restaurant: Impossible

  • Premiering Monday, October 6th at 10pm - "Paradise Impossible"

Robert Irvine is in the resort town of South Padre Island, Texas, to help the owners of the Padre Rita Grill. This four-year-old business features both food and music, but they are not doing either very well. Robert will have to overhaul the tacky tiki bar decor and get the owners to focus on the bottom line to make life at the Padre Rita Grill paradise.

  • Premiering Monday, October 13th at 10pm - "An Abundance of Emotions"

Robert visits Abudanza Ristorante in Wilbraham, Massachusetts, and meets owner Lou, a proud man with years of restaurant and executive chef experience who is burned out from the job and the demands of caring for a sick child. Robert works to address management issues and the restaurant makeover, but is so moved by Lou and his family that he leaves them with another much needed surprise.

Rewrapped

  • Premiering Monday, October 6th at 8:00pm - "Boy, Ar-Dees Good"

It is the snack that made five-star chefs out of us all - Chef Boyardee's Beef Ravioli! The three contestants must stuff all their culinary know-how into the Recreate Round to replicate the classic pasta dish. But things go awry when one chef's pasta dough falls apart. Then in the Innovate Round, both of the remaining chefs decide to make desserts out of the Beef Ravioli! Join host Joey Fatone and find out which sweet can compete on Rewrapped!

  • Premiering Monday, October 13th at 8:00pm - "Sno Ball Free-For-All"

Duck! Hostess Sno Balls are coming! In the Recreate Round, one chef tries to take a shortcut by using mochi instead of marshmallow. Will this gamble pay off? And when the remaining chefs move onto the Innovate Round, it all comes down to a battle between a torte and a tart. Whose sweet is the one to beat? Get ready for a marshmallow kerfuffle, as Joey Fatone hosts this gooey episode of Rewrapped!

Barefoot Contessa

  • Premiering Sunday, October 26th at 10am - "Best of Barefoot: Desserts"

This is all about the desserts in Ina's hall of fame. Ina shares dishes that are both simple and show-stopping with recipes for make-ahead Frozen Mocha Mousse, shortcut French Apple Galettes, easy Balsamic Strawberries, Fruit Salad With Limoncello, Eton Mess and delicious Skillet Brownies.

Farmhouse Rules

  • Premiering Sunday, October 5th at 12:30pm - "Camp GiGi"

It is time for Nancy's annual "Camp GiGi," where she hosts all 13 of her grandkids for a week of food and fun at the farm. At the end of camp, the whole family enjoys a camp fire and traditional Crab and Shrimp Boil with New Potatoes, as well as Creamed Corn, Banana Pudding with Homemade Vanilla Wafers and Sparkling Apple Cider Punch, before setting off wish lanterns into the sky.

  • Premiering Sunday, October 12th at 12:30pm - "Bake Fest"

Nancy is hosting a bake sale festival on the farm and is busy with all the preparations.
