In case you missed it during the MTV VMAs last night, check out the first look at the new TV series HEATHERS coming to Paramount Network in 2018.
Based on the 1988 cult classic film, HEATHERS is a pitch-black comedy anthology set in the present day as heroine Veronica Sawyer (Grace Victoria Cox) and boyfriend J.D. (James Scully) deal with a very different but equally vicious group of Heathers -- Heather Chandler (Melanie Field), Heather Duke (Brendan Scannell) and Heather McNamara (Jasmine Mathews).
HEATHERS is based on the 1988 cult classic film of the same name. Leslye Headland ("Sleeping with Other People," "Bachelorette") will direct the pitch-black comedy. The script is written by Jason Micallef ("Butter"), and Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi will executive produce for Lakeshore Entertainment.
This is not the first time HEATHERS has been adapted for another form of media. HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL was a rock musical with music, lyrics, and a book by Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy and was also based on the 1988 cult film. After a sold-out Los Angeles tryout, the show had a production Off-Broadway in 2014. The show, while a comedy, deals with issues of teen suicide, bullying, homophobia, and gun violence.Videos
