Production wrapped last week in Los Angeles on THE NIGHTMARE - the latest film from acclaimed director Rodney Ascher (ROOM 237) and Content.

THE NIGHTMARE follows the disturbing investigation into the demonic visions experienced by victims of sleep paralysis and provoked by Ascher's own unsettling experiences with the condition.

The horror documentary is produced by Ross M. Dinerstein (THE PACT, THE DIVIDE) and Glen Zipper - producer of the Academy Award winning film, UNDEFEATED. The film is executive produced by Content Film President Jamie Carmichael (THE PACT, BLACK BOOK) and co-produced by Tim Kirk (ROOM 237).

Content is handling worldwide sales on THE NIGHTMARE and working with Preferred Content on North American sales. A teaser is being shown in Toronto during TIFF. The film has already been presold to the UK (Altitude) and France (The Jokers Films).

Director Rodney Asher said: "This project was a once in a lifetime opportunity to cross-breed two genres I love, documentary and horror. After exploring people's real-life waking nightmares in long, free-flowing personal interviews, it was a bizarre trip through the looking glass to bring them to life and get lost inside of them on the set."

THE NIGHTMARE follows Ascher's hit Kubrick analysis feature ROOM 237, which premiered at Sundance, screened in Cannes' Director's Fortnight, won the Best Director (Documentary) prize at the Austin Fantastic Fest and IDA's Creative Editing award. It was repeatedly listed as one of the must-see documentaries of the year.

Ascher is represented by Lee Stobby at Silent R Management.

Content Film is the worldwide film and library sales arm of Content Media Corporation Ltd., which owns and distributes a significant library of high quality and commercial feature films, television and digital assets. In addition to handling worldwide marketing, publicity and sales on a library of over 255 film titles, the company works with producers on securing finance for new projects. Content Film is led by Jamie Carmichael, President - Film Division.

Content Media recently closed a multi-faceted deal with Bruno Wu's Beijing-based Seven Stars Entertainment and Media, Ltd., whereby Content acquired the Alive Group of companies, allowing Content to distribute its extensive library of titles through the Alive Group to the Chinese market, while also accepting a direct equity investment by Seven Stars.

Content is currently handling worldwide rights to, among others; the post-apocalyptic '400 Days', 'Ocsar Wilde's The Canterville Ghost' voiced by Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie; the uplifting emotional drama 'Life at these Speeds' starring Billy Crudup, AnnaSophia Robb and Sam Rockwell; 'Janis: Little Girl Blue' directed by Academy Award nominated Amy Berg; the spy thriller 'Newcomer' starring James Floyd and Anthony LaPaglia; Academy Award winning director Mike van Diem returns with the romantic comedy 'The Surprise'; the intense horror 'The Diabolical' starring Ali Larter; 'Pudsey the dog: The Movie' starring Britain's Got Talent famous winning dog; the action comedy 'Redirected' starring Vinnie Jones; Rodney Asher's 'The Nightmare'; Caradog James' supernatural thriller 'Don't Knock Twice'; the supernatural heist thriller 'The Trust'; the extraordinary, moving, white-knuckle drive with one of the greatest movie stars of all time documentary 'Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans' and Academy Award winner John Ridley's 'Jimi: All Is By My Side' starring Andre Benjamin, Hayley Atwell and Imogen Poots.
