HBO's Martin Scorsese-produced period drama Boardwalk Empire has just announced that it will make its return on September 8, but, before then, a new glimpse at the forthcoming fourth season of the series has been made available, including first looks at new featured guest stars Jeffrey Wright and Ron Livingston.
Wright's character, Valentin Narcisse, has been officially described by HBO as such: "Valentin Narcisse, Doctor of Divinity, philanthropist, student of culture and the man who runs Harlem."
Less is known on Livingston's character, namEd Roy Phillips, at this early stage of the game, but rumors indicate he will portray a wealthy businessman who has some dealings with whorehouse madam and scrappy schemer Gillian Darmody (played by Gretchen Mol).
BOARDWALK EMPIRE has previously featured many stage stars over its first three seasons in addition to star Steve Buscemi and the main cast, with notable recurring roles played by Broadway regulars Bobby Cannavale, Stephen DeRosa, Danny Burstein, Rebecca Luker and Billy Magnussen.
A noted stage and screen actor, Wright is perhaps best known to many for his Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe-winning performance in the stage and screen versions of Tony Kushner's Pulitzer Prize-winning ANGELS IN AMERICA, among many other stage and screen roles.
Livingston is a familiar face to theatre fans for his originating role in Neil LaBute's IN A DARK, DARK PLACE as well as numerous other stage and screen appearances, including, most notably, SEX & THE CITY.
BOARDWALK EMPIRE Season Four kicks off on HBO on September 8.
