Filmmaker Rich Wolgemuth will show his most recent narrative short film THIS WORLD OF GHOSTS at the 21st Annual Dances With Films at the TCL Chinese Theaters in Hollywood, Wednesday, June 13th at 5PM, as part of the Festival's Fusion Shorts program. The festival runs June 7- 17th.

Written and directed by Wolgemuth, the film deals with one man's journey to save the woman he loves from a pair of mysterious kidnappers that ultimately leads to a personal revelation that changes the lives of everyone involved.

Wolgemuth is a writer/director whose work revels in a broad spectrum of human emotion. With thoughtful approach to craft, Rich has built a reputation as an actor's director who is able to translate the experience of being human into a visual form, with all of its beauty, quirks, and ?aws. He is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago and UCLA's Screenwriting Program and is a veteran of the Chicago and Los Angeles entertainment scenes where he has directed for both the stage and screen. A lover of all types of cinema, Rich's strengths come from his ability to LEVERAGE genre in new and interesting ways. He is currently putting together his ?rst feature ?lm, a gritty historical drama that takes a new and unique look at the bloody birth of Christianity.

"My family was dealing with a loved one who had Alzheimer's and was deteriorating rapidly, so the idea of doing something in this world felt very urgent. Talking about and sorting through your feelings on these things can be very di?cult and I really wanted the ?lm to be my voice and response to all of it," said Wolgemuth. "My grandfather passed away SOMEWHERE BETWEEN draft one and our ?rst shoot day but it didn't diminish the drive to create it. Quite the opposite. While writing and crewing up, I found that a lot of people were connecting to it and responding in very emotional ways. More people than I realized had to deal with something like this and they were ?nding their voice in the material as well."

THIS WORLD OF GHOSTS stars Cameron Radice, London Vale, Cameron Diskin, Michelle Campbell, Jean St. James, John Frederick Scott and BARRY Vaughan. The film was produced by Amanda See and Mali Elfman, with executive producers Nick Simon and Michael May.

The final lineup will feature more than 200 titles, chosen from a record 2,200 submissions from all over the globe. The juried narrative competition section includes 16 features and more than three-dozen shorts. DWF also has a category for groundbreaking short and feature documentaries, provocative genre fare in the Midnight section, and the most exciting music videos and dance-themed films from the indie scene in the Downbeats section.
