Film and television distributor FilmRise announced today that they have acquired the U.S. distribution rights to RESET. Starring renowned dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, best known as the man behind the ballet of Darren Aronofsky's "Black Swan," the documentary made its North American premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this week and will receive a theatrical release in the fall.

Appointed director of the Paris Opera Ballet in 2014, Benjamin Millepied premiered his first ballet on September 25, 2015. From the very first rehearsal up until opening night, directors Thierry Demaizière and Alban Teurlai immersed themselves in the world of the Paris Opera Ballet, right at the heart of its artistic creation. With appearances by composer Nico Muhly, Opera alumna Aurélie Dupont, and designer Iris van Herpen, "Reset" is a delightfully aesthetic affair, a moving portrait of a landmark moment for one of the ballet's oldest institutions and one of its brightest new stars, both on the cusp of great transition.

"Reset" is directed by Thierry Demaizière and Alban Teurlai, and produced by Stéphanie Schorter.

"It is with great pleasure that we announce our acquisition of 'Reset' ahead of its North American premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival," said Danny Fisher, CEO of FilmRise. "With masterful filmmaking that mirrors the artistry of its subject, we are confident the film will win over audiences and critics alike when it comes to theaters this fall."

"We are beyond thrilled that our film has found a home in the U.S. so audiences will be able to discover the magic of the Paris Opera Ballet," said filmmakers Thierry Demaizière and Alban Teurlai.

The deal was negotiated between Fisher and FilmRise's VP of Acquisitions Max Einhorn with Severine Garusso of Upside Distribution.
