Fest Film Lab are offering a special 30% Early Bird Discount until October 13th, for Remi Adefarasin's Cinematography Workshop (London, 28-29 January).

This will be an absolutely unique opportunity to develop skills in Cinematography with one of the most revered cinematographers in activity. The course aims to provide an educational experience of excellence in a small and intimate group of only 25 participants maximum, with no less than Oscar nominated Cinematographer Remi Adefarasin, who shot films such as "Elizabeth", "About a Boy", "Match Point", "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies", and is currently working on multi-awarded director Amma Asante's "Where Hands Touch". The company advises fast registration to guarantee a place. The workshop fee is 449 GBP, but we will have a 30% Discount until the 13th of October, making the cost 314GBP. Remi Adefarasin is a British cinematographer, born 2 February 1948. He was educated on Photography and Filmmaking at Harrow Art School and began his career as a cameraman trainee at BBC-TV's Ealing Studios. While there, Adefarasin contributed to various different TV movies and series, before making the leap to the big screen. In 1998 the cinematographer lent his vision to the cinematically astonishing historical drama "Elizabeth". Framing lead actress Cate Blanchett's character regally navigate the political waters of turn of the 16th century England, Adefarasin swept awards season. In addition to an Academy Award nomination for Best Cinematography, he took home the awards from the BAFTAs, the British Society of Cinematographers and Camerimage as well. Adefarasin has also worked with Woody Allen on one of the filmmaker's most successful recent films: 2005's "Match Point", as well as the critically acclaimed 1990 Alan Rickman-starring drama "Truly Madly Deeply". His filmography is extense: other well-known works from this cinematographer are "About a boy" (2002), featuring Nicholas Hoult and Hugh Grant; "Johnny English" (2003), starring Rowan Atkinson; and "Cemetery Junction", starring FeliciTy Jones (2010). With a triumphant return to TV, in 2010 Adefarasin was nominated for an Outstanding Cinematography Emmy for his work on the acclaimed TV dramas "The Pacific" (his second Emmy nomination, which followed his 2001 nomination for "Band of Brothers"). In 2012 he was included in the Queen's New Years Honours List, becoming an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his services to the Television and Film Industry. More recently, his work contributed to the dark yet scintillating look of "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" (2016), Ricky Gervais' gritty "David Brent: Life on the Road" (2016) and "Me Before You" (2016).

The workshop will focus on a diversity of topics of the art of cinematography. You will have the chance of not only receiving this knowledge from Remi Adefarasin, but also to interact strongly, as the group will have up to 25 participants, making it extremely practical and interactive. You will also have the opportunity to assess the issues you encountered on your films, and receiving the feedback to unblock situations in the future. The overall theme of the workshop will be: How Remi applies 30 years of shooting on film to shooting in the digital age, and what cinematographers can gain by 'thinking film, shooting digital'. The workshop is designed for Cinematographers, Camera Operators, Directors, Film Students, or anyone serious about a career in the Film Business on the area of cinematography.
