FedExCup Champion Justin Thomas and Jimmy Fallon Compete in Golf Competition on THE TONIGHT SHOW Image

Ahead of the 2018 FedExCup Playoffs, defending FedExCup champion Justin Thomas appeared yesterday on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to compete against the late night host in a friendly golf game. A $1 million donation was made by FedEx to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of the winner.

The game, called Facebreakers, consisted of Fallon and Thomas hitting golf balls at a wall of glass panels featuring etched sketches of their faces. The first competitor to break all of their opponent's faces on THE WALL was declared the winner. After impressive shots by both competitors, and one of Thomas' shots nearly missing Fallon after ricocheting off the Facebreaker structure, Thomas came out on top resulting in FedEx donating the $1 million to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his honor. The donation will help ensure that no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food, so all they have to worry about is helping their child live.

"Appearing on the Tonight Show and meeting Jimmy Fallon has been on my bucket list for quite some time, and it was a blast to go head-to-head with him in a game," said Justin Thomas. "In my line of work on the PGA TOUR, I'm very fortunate to be a part of many amazing opportunities and it's extra special when I can team up with great organizations like FedEx and St. Jude to help make a positive impact in the lives of children and their families."

FedEx has been involved with the FedEx St. Jude Classic for more than 30 years and has helped raise more than $38 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The $1 million donation from FedEx to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is part of the FedEx Cares global giving initiative, in which FedEx is continuing to invest $200 million in more than 200 global communities by 2020 to create opportunities and deliver solutions for people around the world.

Beginning with the 2018-19 PGA TOUR Season, FedEx is the title sponsor of the newly-named World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, which is moving to Memphis, Tennessee, and TPC Southwind.

FedEx has been an official sponsor of the PGA TOUR since 2002. In 2007 the FedExCup-a season-long competitive and promotional platform-was introduced, transforming the competitive landscape of the PGA TOUR. The performance-based point structure culminates with the FedExCup PLAYOFFS, a four-tournament playoff at the end of the season to determine the FedExCup Champion.
