FYI's hit original series TINY HOUSE NATION returns with all-new episodes on Saturday, January 7 at 9pm ET, followed by the season two premiere of "Unplugged Nation" at 10pm ET. Both series showcase alternative living trends that have gained popularity across the country - from extreme downsizing and living tiny to people who are looking to simplify their lives and move from urban cities to off-the-grid settings.
"Tiny House Nation" was the first of its kind in the tiny living genre, and continues to rank as the network's #1 rated program in the home space. The series follows host John Weisbarth and renovation expert and tiny home innovative designer Zack Giffin as they travel across America showing off ingenious small spaces and the people who live in them. Along the way, they help families design and construct their own mini dream homes, each no larger than 500 square feet. From budget friendly to pricey, "Tiny House Nation" is not your typical design show, but one that proves size doesn't always matter - it's creativity that counts.
In the new season of "Tiny House Nation," John and Zack come up with a serious game plan to build NFL Hall-of-Famer, Deion Sanders and his wife, television host Tracey Edmonds a tiny retreat where they can kick-back and relax without interruption. Additional tiny homes featured this season include an out of this world home in Massachusetts for a couple that want the ultimate star-gazing sanctuary to a funky bohemian style home in Minnesota that will suit the homeowner's vegan lifestyle, and more.
"Unplugged Nation" boasted double digit growth throughout its first season among total viewers and is one of FYI's top performing shows. The series follows couples and families as they tour three uniquely unplugged properties, in remote locations across America. Before they make their final decision on a home to purchase, they will test out this new lifestyle by living in one of the properties for four days.
Off-the-grid expert and outdoors enthusiast, Jay Gruen, guides each family in the skills needed to transition to a self-sufficient way of life. From harvesting their own food and tending to livestock, to generating their own power, to creating their own home goods - each episode is packed with useful tips on how to successfully live an unplugged lifestyle. In this season of "Unplugged Nation," Jay heads to Hawaii, California, Arizona, and more to help families decide whether they can hack it, and change their lifestyle permanently by buying their off-the-grid dream home, or give up, and return to the city to plug back in.
