FX has finalized the schedule for its two new late night comedy series. Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, the weekly half-hour series from Executive Producer Chris Rock and starring standup comedian W. Kamau Bell, premieres tonight, August 9 at 11:00 PM E/P, following the six-week run of Brand X with Russell Brand, which debuted on Thursday, June 28 at 11:00 PM E/P.
On Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, Bell will dissect a multitude of topics including politics, pop culture, race, religion, and the media. The series will feature his commentary along with features from other contributors and sketch comedy. The six half-hour installments of the series will be shot in Brooklyn. Chris Rock, Chuck Sklar, and W. Kamau Bell are Executive Producers.
Brand X with Russell Brand features Brand's unvarnished, unfiltered take on current events, politics and pop culture. The network has ordered six half-hour installments of the weekly series that will be shot in front of a live audience. The format will draw heavily on Brand's interaction with that audience. The series, which will be shot in Hollywood, is produced by FX Productions in association with Branded Films and Dakota Films. This marks the first television deal for Branded Films. Executive Producers are Russell Brand, TRoy Miller and Nik Linnen. Miller also serves as Director of the series.
Brand X with Russell Brand and Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell join FX's stacked summer comedy lineup Thursday nights with the new scripted sitcom Anger Management starring Charlie Sheen (6/28, 9:00 and 9:30 PM E/P), the season two premiere of Wilfred starring Elijah Wood and Jason Gann (6/28, 10:00 PM E/P), and the third season premiere of the award winning Louie starring Emmy nominee Louis C.K. (6/28, 10:30 PM E/P).
