FX's John Landgraf announced that the third season of Legion will be its last, according to Deadline. Landgraf also said that's how the show's creator Noah Hawley envisioned it ending.
The series stars Dan Stevens as David Haller, a troubled young man who is diagnosed as schizophrenic, but after a strange encounter, he discovers special powers that will change his life and the world forever. The show's cast also includes Aubrey Plaza, Rachel Keller, Bill Irwin, Jean Smart and Jemaine Clement, Hamish Linklater and Navid Negahban.
Legion was created and executive produced by Hawley and is based on the Marvel comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz. The series was renewed for its upcoming season in June just before its Season 2 finale. Season 3 will premiere in the spring.
Legion is executive produced by Hawley with John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, and Jeph Loebb. Nathaniel Halpern co-executive produces the series and FX Productions and Marvel Television produce with FXP handling the physical production.
