FX Productions (FXP) has signed Emmy(R) Award winning writer and producer D.V. DeVincentis to an exclusive overall television production deal, it was announced by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, the Presidents of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions.
Under his overall production deal with FXP, DeVincentis will develop, write and produce television projects exclusively for all TV services and platforms. The agreement does not include his film projects. UTA and Morris Yorn Barnes Levine Krintzman Rubenstein Kohner & Gellman negotiated the deal on behalf of DeVincentis.
"We had a great experience working with D.V. on The People v. O.J. Simpson:
AMERICAN CRIME Story," said Grad. "His 'Marcia Marcia Marcia' episode of OJ was one of the most memorable episodes of television this year. He's an exceptionally talented writer-producer and will be a great partner with FXP."
DeVincentis said, "FX's mission is to make content rooted in ideas and culture as much as entertainment, and I'm flattered and gratified that they would see me as a partner in that light."
DeVincentis won two Emmy awards on The People v. O.J. Simpson:
AMERICAN CRIME STORY (producer and writer). The critically acclaimed show received a remarkable 22 Emmy Award nominations, winning nine Emmys including major wins for Outstanding Limited Series, Sarah Paulson for Lead Actress, Courtney B. Vance for Lead Actor, Sterling K. Brown for Supporting Actor, and DeVincentis for Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series or a Movie.
Born in Europe and raised in Evanston, Illinois, DeVincentis began his creative life at an early age in the Chicago theater. After studying literature and filmmaking at Columbia College and New York University he moved to Los Angeles, from where he has written and produced film scripts in collaboration with others and alone, including High Fidelity (Writers Guild of America and BAFTA nominations), Grosse Pointe Blank, Lay the Favorite, S.O.S., among others.
Among a number of current film projects in various stages, DeVincentis is writing the supernatural suspense comedy Haunted Mansion for director Guillermo Del Toro and actor Ryan Gosling, and an adaptation of the '70s cult television classic, The Night Stalker, for Johnny Depp (actor, producer) and Edgar Wright (director).
