It was announced by Los Angeles City Councilmen Tom LaBonge and Mitch O'Farrell that hit films "Her," "The Croods" and "Frozen" are this year's recipients of the Council's annual Made in Hollywood Awards, according to Variety.
The awards are handed out to Academy Award nominated live-action films which were produced in Southern California. For the first time, this year's recipients included animated feature films that were "made locally in their entirety or substantially."
"This award tradition has been created to encourage the return and growth of film and television production to its historic home in Southern California," LaBonge said in a statement. "There is nothing like a motion picture in Hollywood that portrays such talent not only in front of the camera but behind the camera as well."Past year's winners include "Argo" and "The Artist". Both feature films earned Oscar nods for Best Picture. The award ceremony will be held on Feb. 13 at the Heart of Hollywood Terrace of the 1600 VINE building.
