TVLine.com reports that an executive with the Fox network has promised a "powerful finale" for Season 3 of GLEE which will also  set up an "exciting, consistent" Season 4.

The Fox series will culminate its third season on May 22nd and according to the executive, the return of the show on April 10th will make the long, winter hiatus worth it. “It’s exciting and is driving towards graduation and an exciting end to the season,” said Dana Walden, co-chairman of 20th Century Fox Television, at this week’s Television Academy Foundation TV Summit.

Walden went on to add that the final episodes of the season would be both “emotional” and “funny,” and that fans should be prepared for “a very powerful finale when viewers get to see what’s on the horizon for all of these characters that people love so deeply. We’re [building to] a very exciting launch into next season.”

While Walden would not release specific details about Season 4, she did assure viewers that it would be in keeping with the tone and feel of the series. "I see it (Season 4) as a continuation of Glee. I don’t define it in any one way or another. It feels like Glee to me. The ideas that Ryan [Murphy]‘s discussed with me feel consistent with this amazing series. It feels very consistent in a dynamic and entertaining way.”
