FINDING NEMO Sequel Altered in Response to Controversial Orca Documentary

A new documentary about orcas in captivity, 'Blackfish', has been causing quite a stir recently. So much so, that the writers of the upcoming 'Finding Nemo' sequel, 'Finding Dory' have altered the script, according to the New York Times.

The storyline originally planned was to feature a marine park but due to the recent controversy, the script has been restructured and now sees the marine life being offered the option to leave if so desired.

Disney, the parent company of Pixar, has refused to comment on the matter.

FINDING DORY is set to arrive in theaters on Nov. 25, 2015. Ellen DeGeneres will once again return as the voice of the titular character. "Finding Nemo" won the 2003 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and was nominated for three additional Oscars (Best Writing, Original Screenplay; Best Music, Original Score; Best Sound Editing). It was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture-Comedy or Musical. In 2008, the American Film Institute named "Finding Nemo" among the top 10 greatest animated films ever made.

At the time of its release, "Finding Nemo" was the highest grossing G-rated movie of all time. It's currently the fourth highest grossing animated film worldwide. The film has more than 16 million Likes on Facebook, and Dory-with more than 24 million-is the most Liked individual character from a Disney or Disney•Pixar film.
