The 18 th annual Fleet Week Coronado Speed Festival,September 19-20, has been selected as the official launch site of the release of Fast & FURIOUS 7 on DVD. Cars from the movie will be at the event throughout the weekend for attendees to see and interact with, and representatives will be giving away movie merchandise.
Set against the stunning backdrop of San Diego Bay, the Fleet Week Coronado Speed Festival will feature 330 of the world's top racing machines from years GONE by, competing wheel-to-wheel on a 1.7 mile runway course at speeds that rival the movie. Some of the cars showcased are valued in the millions of dollars. An enthusiastic gathering of 20,000 fans is expected to be on hand to take a step back in time to enjoy auto racing's rich history.
The movie cars will be in good company during the weekend which features ships tours, military static displays, F18 and helicopter flyovers, Grand Marshal Joe Mantegna, San Diego-area World War II veterans in honor of the 70 th anniversary of the end of the war, and so much more.
