Digitalspy.com reports that actor Ewan McGregor will no longer be directing a film based on the real life story of a famous 1968 yacht race. According to reports, a movie depicting the event is already in the works by another Production Company.
The actor spoke to Nylon Guys and revealed that the movie was to be a joint project with his wife, production designer Eve Mavrakis. "My wife was going to design it, I wasn't going to be in it," said McGregor. "And then I found out someone else is doing it. I was gutted."
McGregor has not given up hope to one day direct a feature length film. He commented, "I think it would be so fascinating and satisfying. But I don't pretend... I would be starting right at the bottom."
The actor's latest film project, the highly anticipated 'Salmon Fishing in the Yemen' is set to be the opening film at this year's Palm Springs International Film Festival in January.
