"FRIDAY NIGHT TYKES"
Premiering Tuesday, January 19 at 9pm ET/PT, Esquire Network's hit documentary series Friday Night Tykes returns to San Antonio, Texas for season three and will begin a new franchise in Western Pennsylvania for Friday Night Tykes: Steel Country this Spring. This spin-off will focus on Beaver County, home of Mike Ditka, Joe Namath and where youth football is not a pastime, but a birthright. Here, kids feel intense pressure to be superstars, not just from home and on the field but also from their communities who are cheering from the stands.
Over the new season's ten episodes in San Antonio, viewers will have the chance to see the 10 and 11-year-old division of the Texas Youth Football Association (TYFA), and will get an authentic look at the making of potential future NFL superstars. Season three introduces the revamped team, the Predators, whose philosophy is "Smashmouth: Aggressive and Confrontational football." Lead by head coach John Collins, they practice tackles every single day. On the opposite end of punt sits the Yoakum Outlawz whose drastically different approach is to practice one day a week to avoid overexertion. Both teams have had great success with their different tactics and look forward to validating their methodology on the field.
