Variety reports that Esai Morales, Loretta Devine and Salli Richardson will be starring in Gary Wheeler's indie High School drama TEACHERS, written by Rhonda Baraka. The film follows a community that comes together to save a high school.

Morales is one of the current SAG-AFTRA presidential candidates, along with Ken Howard, Marilyn Monrovia and Paul Edney. He plays a parent and printer in TEACHERS, which is filming in North Carolina this week. In the movie, Divine plays a guidance counselor and Richardson is the principal.
Morales has appeared on Broadway in 2005's The Mambo Kings, as well as Salome in 1992. Past TV credits include Magic City, Fairly Legal, Los Americans, Caprica, Jericho, 24: Day Six - Debrief, Vanished, NYPD Blue, Resurrection Blvd., American Family and more. He will next be seen in the feature film Playin' for Love.
