Boardwalk Empire has found its young J. Edgar Hoover.
According to Deadline, showrunners for HBO's hit period drama have tapped Eric Ladin to portray the future director of the FBI in the series' upcoming fourth season as a recurring role.
The network has begun production on the fourth season, which is set to premiere later this year.

Ladin is best known for appearing on AMC's recently revived series THE KILLING, as well as BIG LOVE, opposite Chloe Sevigny. He has also guested on such shows as Criminal Minds and JUSTIFIED.
From Terence Winter, Emmy-winning writer of "The Sopranos" and Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese, BOARDWALK EMPIRE is set in the 1920s during Prohibition, and chronicles the life and times of Enoch "Nucky" Thompson, the undisputed leader of Atlantic City.
