Entertainment One (eOne) announced today the six half-hour Stan original series The Other Guyhas been licensed to Hulu in the U.S. and Super Channel in Canada. The series will begin streaming on Hulu starting June 28th and will premiere on Super Channel on August 13th.
One of the most binged titles of 2017 for Australia's leading local subscription video-on-demand provider Stan, The Other Guy is a funny, raw and poignant look at break-ups in the digital age, and at the harsh reality of recovering from a heartbreak. Created by and starring leading Australian comedian Matt Okine, the series follows a successful radio host, AJ Amon (Okine), who finds himself unexpectedly back in the dating pool for the first time in a decade, after discovering his long-term girlfriend has been having an affair with his best friend.
The Other Guy co-stars Valene Kane (The Fall, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) along with a host of Australian talent including Harriet Dyer (No Activity, Love Child), Marg Downey (Fast Forward, Kath & Kim), Christiaan van Vuuren (Soul Mates, Bondi Hipsters), Adam Briggs (Cleverman, Black Comedy) and composer, performer and rising star Amali Golden (Australian Idol).
Season Two of The Other Guy is currently in development with Stan and Create NSW. Filmed in Sydney, Australia, the series is written by Okineand Becky Lucas (Please Like Me), script produced by Greg Waters (Soul Mates, Dance Academy) and directed by Kacie Anning (Fragments ofFriday). An AQUARIUS Films and Entertainment One TV Australia production, the series received production investment funding from Screen Australia and Create NSW.
