Global independent studio Entertainment One (eOne) today announces a renewal of their first-look deal with leading documentary production company Creature Films. Initially launched in April 2015, the partnership has yielded Streets of Compton, nominated for an Image Award and an IDA Award and the recently announced L.A. Burning: The Riots 25 Years Later, among other projects.

"Our collaboration with Creature Films has brought to life an impressive slate of outstanding projects across a number of top networks," said Tara Long, EVP, Alternative Programming, eOne Television. "We are proud of the continued success of this partnership and look forward to working with Mark, Kevin and their innovative team for years to come."

Creature Films is currently working together with eOne on their next unannounced projects, which have both been picked up straight-to-series by major cable networks. They are also in production on The Notorious Life of Biggie Smalls, the premiere film in the relaunch of A&E's Biography franchise, which Is being directed by Ford. Additional projects include THE RIDE for MTV International and two separate documentary projects about the LA Riots: LA Burning, a collaboration with Executive Producer John Singleton, for A&E, and LA Riots: 25 Years Later for History Channel. The continued partnership with Emmy®-nominated producers Mark Ford and Kevin Lopez solidifies eOne Television's alternative division with other recently announced first-look deal with CHOPPED creators Cleve Keller and Dave Noll.

"Working with eOne and Tara's group has offered us the many benefits of a global studio while still being a truly creative partnership," said Ford and Lopez. "We are thrilled to continue our relationship together, and there is much more on the horizon."

Ford and Lopez founded Creature Films as a full service film and television production company in 2004, and together they have produced over one hundred hours of television for many networks including MTV, VH1, Bravo, Oxygen, TV Land, WE, TLC, IFC, History Channel, and A&E. Their producing and show-running credits include MTV's Laguna Beach and Taking the Stage, VH1's long running Emmy nominated series Behind the Music, Bravo's Kandi Factory and There Goes the Motherhood. They have also produced and directed acclaimed music documentaries like NWA: The World's Most Dangerous Group, Let's Spend the Night Together, and Uprising: Hip Hop and the LA Riots, which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival and won multiple awards. They are represented by WME and Mortar Media.

eOne's Alternative Programming slate of successful shows include The Hollywood Puppet Sh!t Show (working title) from executive producer Wilmer Valderrama, recently announced for Fuse; GROWING UP HIP HOP and GROWING UP HIP HOP Atlanta, the docu-series following the next generation of hip-hop royalty for WE tv; MARY MARY for WE tv; Streets of Compton for A&E; David Spade's comedy prank show FAMELESS for truTV; NELLYVILLE for BET, The Manns for TV One; and RACE TO ESCAPE for Discovery Science. eOne's US Alternative Programming division, which she launched in 2012, has had nine projects go straight to series.
