Emmy Nominee Sammy Sadovnik Extends Multiyear Contract with NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises

NBCUniversalTelemundo Enterprises announced the extension of its multiyear contract with sportscaster and commentator Sammy Sadovnik, nominated for a National Sports Emmy last week for Outstanding On-Air Talent in Spanish. With the extension of Sadovnik's multiyear contract, the network confirmed his participation on the Telemundo AND NBC UNIVERSO team covering premier global sporting events, including the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics, the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018™.

"Sammy Sadovnik is one of the most knowledgeable, well-known and experienced soccer narrators and commentators on Spanish-language television in the United States," commented Eli Velázquez, Executive Vice President of Sports, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. "His recent Emmy nomination comes as a well-deserved recognition of his many accomplishments. Our team is privileged to have Sammy among our experts lineup of soccer presenters."

Sammy Sadovnik also is one of the lead contributors of the sports news program "Titulares Telemundo." Viewers can enjoy his unique commentary and analysis in the network's coverage of Premier League and León and Pachuca Liga MX home games, as well as the World Cup qualifying round on "Rumbo al Mundial." His signature phrases - "goals you don't make are goals that will eventually be made against you" and "this play has the aroma of a goal" - have become part of the soccer vernacular.

Sadovnik began his reporting career in his native Peru and has gone on to cover top international soccer tournaments, including five World Cups and Copa Américas and three Olympic Games.
