Emma Stone to Receive First-Ever 'MTV Trailblazer Award'

MTV.com reports that Emma Stone will be the recipient of the first-ever 2012 'MTV Trailblazer Award' for her diverse body of film work. The MTV MOVIE AWARDS will air live from the Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. According to the report, Stone will receive the award for her "ability to connect with MTV viewers in films like the gut-busting comedy "Easy A," for which she won the Best Comedic Performance golden popcorn last year."

The actress has been nominated for several prizes in this year's awards including Best Female Performance for "Crazy, Stupid, Love," and Best Kiss with Ryan Gosling, her co-star in the film. She is also part of the Best Cast category for her work in the box-office smash, "The Help."

Russell Brand will host the show, which will include musical performancesby buzzy band Fun., as well as "Work Hard, Play Hard" MC Wiz Khalifa.

Stone made her feature film debut in the comedy Superbad (2007). She appeared in The House Bunny (2008) and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009). She then starred in the horror-comedy Zombieland and the indie comedy Paper Man in 2009. In 2010, Stone voiced the character Mazie in Marmaduke, and starred in the high school comedy Easy A, which earned her a nomination for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.

In 2011, she starred in the films Crazy, Stupid, Love and The Help. Stone will play Gwen Stacy in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man film.
