Elizabeth Banks will create a narrative film version of the doc "Science Fair," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The National Geographic-backed documentary follows nine high school students from around the globe as they navigate rivalries, setbacks and hormones on their journey to compete at the International Science and Engineering Fair.
Jordan Weiss will write the screenplay, Banks will produce, and Alison Small will executive produce with Brownstone.
The writers and directors and producers of the documentary, Cristina Costantini and Darren Foster,will serve as associate producers on the film. Universal Vice President of Production Sara Scott will oversee on behalf of the studio.
Banks is also currently in production on the highly anticipated "Charlie's Angels" reboot for Sony.
