Yesterday, it was announced that Rosie O'Donnell would be making a return as host of ABC's THE VIEW, following news that Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy would soon be exiting the daily talk show. O'Donnell left the show in 2007 following a confrontation with then co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck over the war in Iraq.

Today, Hasselbeck, currently on a summer hiatus from her FOX talk show, called in to FOX AND FRIENDS to share her displeasure over the recent report that O'Donnell would be coming back to the show.

"What could ruin a vacation more than to hear news like this?" she said. "Talk about not securing the border. Here comes to The View the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there."

Hasselbeck also claimed that O'Donnell's return to The View was "in the works for a long time." "She walked around with a lot of control [at The View reunion show] and when I got a chance to talk with her, Rosie herself told me on set while we were mic'd up that she produced the reunion show to have everybody together and it was her idea," she told FOX and Friends. "Would you think that the women who left the way that she did would be producing Barbara Walters' goodbye show? Now here's the shocker, it was actually her 'Hello' show."

The former 'Survivor' contestant' also offered words of advice to O'Donnell regarding View host Whoopi Goldberg. "I don't think it would be wise for Rosie O'Donnell to challenge Whoopi Goldberg on anything."
