During last night's fourth episode of "Blind Auditions" on TELEMUNDO's "La Voz Kids," Coaches Daddy Yankee, Natalia Jimenez and Pedro Fernandez selected eight more voices for their teams, bringing the total of 32. Kids from Arizona, California, Florida and Puerto Rico made the cut. The search continues next Sunday, April 12th at 8pm/7c, from Universal Orlando Resort, during the fifth night of the "Blind Auditions."
Following is a recap of last night's episode:
DADDY YANKEE added two female voices to #TeamYankee:
13-year-old Valeria Gomez, from Santa Rosa, California, performed "La Mariquita" (
Linda Ronstadt). The first time she took the stage was with a Mariachi band during a family festivity. Her inspiration is her family, especially her sister, who is ill. Coach Yankee, the only one to turn his chair, commented on her exceptional talent and took her as the first female Regional Mexican singer in #TeamYankee.
14-year-old Maria Teresa Eguino, from Nogales, Arizona, came to compete not only with the rest of the kids, but also with her twin sister. She loves to sing pop music and performed "ABC" (The Jackson 5). Both sisters play several instruments, and always perform together. The three Coaches turned their chairs and she decided on #TeamYankee.
NATALIA JIMENEZ took three contestants for #TeamNatalia:
14-year-old Alondra Suarez, from Cayey, Puerto Rico, who performed "Estes Donde Estes" (Ha-Ash), is a petite girl with a big voice. "To be in 'La Voz Kids' is a big accomplishment and dream come true," she stated. Natalia was the only Coach to turn her chair. "I'm ready for Coach Natalia to help me be as 'big' as she is" added the young girl.
15-year-old Cristal Guzman, from Kissimmee, Florida, of Dominican descent, performed "Flor Palida" (
Marc Anthony). She suffered from a health condition that kept her in a wheel chair for a year, and during that time, music became her refuge. Coach Yankee tried hard to convince her with his lyrical flow, but Natalia, who praised Cristal's great vocal command, took the tropical music singer to #TeamNatalia.
11-year-old Jonael Santiago, who lives in Miami but is a proud Puerto Rican, performed "Tus Besos" (
Juan Luis Guerra) and danced perfectly to the Bachata tune. This mature young boy calls himself "The man of the house," because he always helps his mother, but also finds time to teach himself music. His rhythm and charisma brought audience and Coaches to their feet! Coach Natalia was happily surprised when he picked her as his Coach.
PEDRO FERNANDEZ also added three members to #TeamPedro:
14-year-old Karina de Jesus Recamier, from
Phoenix Arizona, loves to sing Regional Mexican music, and performed "El Pastor" (Aida Cuevas). She perfectly combines her Cuban and Guatemalan heritage, and writes songs inspired by her half-siblings who live in Cuba and whom she has yet to meet. The three Coaches turned their chairs praising the way she performed a difficult song, but she chose #TeamPedro.
11-year-old Joe Fata, from Hollister, California, performed "El Triste" (Jose Jose). His grandmother has been instrumental in him learning Spanish and loving Mexican music. He plays several instruments and is part of a Mariachi band; he dreams of one day performing in Mexico. The audience loved his performance as Coaches Pedro and Natalia turned their chairs with enthusiasm.
14-year-old Maria Isabel Eguino, from Nogales, Arizona, loves to sing Regional Mexican music, and performed "No Me Queda Mas" (Selena). She began to sing at the age of seven at her father's restaurant, with her twin sister Maria Teresa, who made #TeamYankee. The stage of "LVK" was the first time they performed apart, and sang in the music genres of their preference. The three Coaches also turned their chairs as she opted for #TeamPedro, becoming her sister's rival.
