Telemundo announced the premiere of its new national weekend newscast, "Noticiero Telemundo Fin de Semana," on Saturday, October 4 at 5 pm/4 C. Produced by Noticias Telemundo, the award-winning news division of Telemundo Network, the new weekend newscast will air every Saturday and Sunday and will be anchored by Telemundo's journalist Edgardo del Villar.

Previously, Edgardo del Villar served as news anchor for Telemundo's Emmy Award-winning morning show "Un Nuevo Día," and as correspondent for "Noticiero Telemundo" and "Al Rojo Vivo." During his time with
Telemundo he has covered many major news stories such as the flooding in Acapulco, Mexico and drug trafficking along the border. In Mexico, Del Villar anchored "Las Noticias," Televisa's
PRIMETIME newscast in Monterrey. In addition to his work on television, he spent more than a decade as news director and anchor for various radio networks, including MVS, Radio Fórmula and Núcleo Radio Monterrey, and advisor to the editorial board of Grupo Reforma, Mexico's largest media group.
