ESPN announced today its five-game 2017 MLB Spring Training schedule highlighted by a game from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. The day before the regular season begins, ESPN's Spring Training schedule concludes with the Boston Red Sox and Washington Nationals on April 1 at 2 p.m. ET. from Max Bishop Stadium, home of the Naval Academy's baseball team. Naval Academy midshipmen and select members of the U.S. Navy will be in attendance for the game.
The five-game schedule begins March 23, with a doubleheader featuring both the Grapefruit and Cactus Leagues. The New York Yankees visit the Tampa Bay Rays in Port Charlotte, Fl., at 1 p.m. followed by the Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers in Surprise, Az., in prime time at 7 p.m.
The schedule continues on March 27 when the Baltimore Orioles host the Red Sox at their Spring Training location in Sarasota, Fl. The St. Louis Cardinals travel to Port St. Lucie, Fl., the following day to face the New York Mets. Both matchups begin at 1 p.m.
SportsCenter on the Road powered by Ford will travel to various Spring Training sites to provide live reports and updates. Additionally,
ESPN will send several bureau reporters to Spring Training locations beginning Tuesday, February 14, with continuous coverage running through the World Baseball Classic and into the start of the season.
