The Home Depot Coach of the Year Award will be presented to Colorado's Mike MacIntyre as a part of The Home Depot COLLEGE FOOTBALL AWARDS on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. ET, on ESPN. After a 4-9 record in 2015 (1-8 Pac-12), MacIntyre led the Buffaloes to a six-win turnaround (10-3, 8-1 Pac-12) and their first appearance in the Pac-12 championship game. In addition, The John Mackey Award will also recognize Jake Butt of Michigan as an outstanding tight end during The Red Carpet Special at The Home Depot COLLEGE FOOTBALL Awards.

Losing 27 of 37 games during his first three seasons in Boulder, McIntyre's team began the 2016 season unranked and predicted to finish last in the Pac-12 South. The Buffaloes went on to win the South and earn a top-10 spot in the COLLEGE FOOTBALL Playoff rankings. Colorado lead the conference in scoring defense (18.8 points per game), ranked second in total defense (351.9 yards per game) and third in red-zone total offense (89.2 percent), according to the Pac-12. The No. 11 Colorado Buffaloes will make their first bowl appearance since 2007 versus No. 13 Oklahoma State at the Valero ALAMO BOWL on Dec. 29, 2016 at 9 p.m. on ESPN.

Butt, a senior from the University of Michigan, has been named the country's outstanding tight end by the Friends of John Mackey, BECOMING Michigan's first winner. Butt will be presented with The John Mackey Award during The Red Carpet Special at The Home Depot COLLEGE FOOTBALL AWARDS on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. on ESPNU.

The John Mackey Award is given to the collegiate tight end who best exemplifies the play, sportsmanship, academics, and community values of NFL Hall of Fame Tight End John Mackey.

The annual awards show will also feature with the live presentation of:

Nine National COLLEGE FOOTBALL AWARDS Association (NCFAA) player awards

The NCFAA Contributions to COLLEGE FOOTBALL Award to Steve Spurrier

The Disney Spirit Award to James Conner of Pittsburgh

The National Football Foundation's William V. Campbell Trophy to Zach Terrell of Western Michigan
