ESPN today announced it has re-signed one of its most prominent and widely-followed NBA commentators, NBA senior writer Marc Stein. In this new, multi-year agreement, Stein will continue to have a prolific presence across ESPN platforms.
Stein, who has been with
ESPN since 2000 as a top writer, will serve as ESPN's lead national basketball reporter. In this role, he will contribute regular columns, including his popular weekly
ESPN NBA Power Rankings, reports and news updates to ESPN.com, as well as providing regular news reports for
SPORTSCENTER and other news and information programming. Stein will also continue his role as reporter for
ESPN Radio during NBA All-Star and the
NBA FINALS and will make appearances on ESPN's daily NBA studio show, The Jump.
"Watching
ESPN was such a big part of my life growing up that, even after all this time, there are still occasions when I can't believe I work here," Stein said. "I felt like I won
THE LOTTERY back in 2000 when I started writing for ESPN.com once per week and then again in 2002 when I was hired full-time to coincide with
ESPN commencing its role as a national NBA broadcaster. And now to know, through the grace of this new contract, that this partnership will be creeping up on 20 years - I'm just honored, man. It's the greatest job in the world with the greatest team in the world.?"
After covering the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Stein began his 24th season of NBA coverage - and 15th with
ESPN - at Golden State Warriors training camp. Stein has regularly covered the Warriors across various
ESPN platforms for the past two seasons.
