Doris Burke, one of ESPN's most talented and versatile commentators, has signed a multi-year extension with the network and will continue to play a key role in its NBA and college basketball coverage. As part of the new deal, Burke will join the Wednesday editions of Kia NBA Countdown - ESPN's NBA pre-game show - alongside analyst Jalen Rose and newcomer and veteran analyst Avery Johnson. She will make her Countdown debut on Wednesday, November 13, at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Burke adds studio commentator to her multitude of basketball coverage responsibilities. She will continue to serve as both an analyst and a reporter for NBA games on ABC and ESPN, including the NBA Finals. She will also maintain her role as a lead men's college basketball and women's college basketball game analyst - a role that includes the Women's Final Four on ESPN.

Doris Burke on new deal:

"This next chapter in my ESPN journey is going to be exciting, challenging and most of all, rewarding. Working on NBA Countdown offers me a chance to do everything I love - I get to talk basketball with my colleagues while hopefully facilitating some great discussion on NBA's top storylines."

Mark Gross, ESPN senior Vice president and executive producer, on Burke's new deal:

"We're thrilled that Doris will continue to be a leading voice for both our NBA and college basketball coverage. She exhibits her passion for the sport everyday through her exemplary work. This new NBA Countdown role will allow Doris to provide her veteran insights, while also reporting news - two things that she does at the highest level."

Burke has contributed to ESPN's basketball coverage since 1991. For more biographical information on Burke, visit ESPN Media Zone.
