The show scores the highest in-season results for a regular-slot alternative series premiere on the Big 4 since March 2016 in both 18-49 and total viewers (2.8 in 18-49, 14.9 million viewers for the regular-slot debut of NBC's "Little Big Shots" on March 13, 2016). Ranks #1 in the timeslot among the Big 4 networks in every key demographic, winning in 18-49 by a +47% margin (2.2 vs. 1.5 for CBS' #2 "NCIS"). Is the #2 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, behind only the 9 p.m. "Game of Games." A second episode of "Ellen's Game of Games" (2.4/8 in 18-49, 8.9 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) soars +41% above the show's Dec. 18 preview in 18-49 (2.4 vs. 1.7) and +1.6 million persons and +22% in total viewers (8.857 million vs. 7.233 million). Is the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49. Builds on its lead-in by +9% in 18-49 and +1% in total viewers. Wins the timeslot among the Big 4 networks in every key demographic, leading in 18-49 by a +100% margin (2.4 vs. 1.2 for CBS' #2 "Bull"). Is the #2 highest-rated regular-slot episode of any first-year broadcat series so far this season in 18-49 (behind only the Thanksgiving night telecast of "Young Sheldon," 2.6, following a high-rated NFL late-afternoon telecast on CBS).
"Chicago Med" (1.5/6 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET): Hits a season high in 18-49 with its top rating since March 2 (1.7 Thursday at 9 p.m.). Jumps +36% versus the show's prior telecast, its fall finale three weeks ago, in 18-49 (1.5 vs. 1.1 on Dec. 12) and +12% in total viewers (6.910 million vs. 6.196 million).
The show wins the slot among the ABC,
CBS and
NBC dramas in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and most other key demos. Ranks #1 by a +50% margin among those dramas in adults 18-49 (1.5 vs. 1.0 for CBS' #2 "NCIS: New Orleans"). Ties the 8 p.m. telecast of "NCIS" as the #3 show of the night, behind only the 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. editions of "Ellen's Game of Games." Will add significant viewership via time-shifting and VOD -- "Med" is increasing this season by +68% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 1.20 to a 2.11) and more than +3.9 million viewers overall (6.7 million to 10.6 million). When projected seven-day non-linear viewing is included, the "Med" 18-49 rating increases to an 2.42.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday Night: In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.8/5 with an encore telecast; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 3.1/8; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.8/5.
In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.6/3 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.
From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.2/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/1.
At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
