The 13-episode dramedy follows El Vato (El Dasa) and his unconditional friends Mariana (Cristina Rodlo), El Pollo (Gustavo Egelhaaf) and Brandon (Ricardo Polanco) as they face challenges with humor along their journey to achieve the American dream. This season will feature celebrity cameos including appearances by Chiquis, Cheyo Carrillo, Roberto Sosa, Andrea Martí, Azucena Cierco, Jorge Bernal and Erika Angel. The premiere episode will be followed by a Behind the Scenes special at 11pm/10C.
The weekly dramedy stars Regional Mexican singer El Dasa, Cristina Rodlo, Gustavo Egelhaaf, Ricardo Polanco, Mauricio Martínez, Horacio Castelo, Arcelia Ramirez Sebastian Ferrat and Giancarlo Vidrio.
In addition to playing the lead role of El Vato, El Dasa composed the theme song "El Hijo del Desierto" which deals with themes of perseverance, friendship, roots and immigration. Using footage from the second season of "El Vato" along with footage from El Dasa singing the song inside a studio with his friends, "El Hijo del Desierto" communicates, in a passionate yet honest way, what the El Vato story is all about.
