According to Variety, Kevin Williamson has Enlisted Dylan McDermott (AMERICAN HORROR STORY, HOSTAGES) to star in his upcoming drama pilot at CBS "set in the world of stalkers."
Williamson will executive produce and write the script for the untitled project, described as a "psychological thriller" which "centers on a pair of detectives who handle stalking incidents for the Threat Management Unit of the LAPD."
McDermott will play Jack Larsen, a recent transfer to the LAPD's Threat Assessment Unit," who is "confident and quick thinking - attributes have been known to get him into trouble."
THE FOLLOWING stars Golden Globe winner and Emmy Award nominee Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy, The Following out-rated all freshman series, finished the 2012-13 season as the No. 1 drama on broadcast television among Adults 18-49, Men 18-49 and Men 18-34 and drew an average audience of 16.3 million viewers across key live and time-shifted platforms.
Williamson also executive produces The CW's THE VAMPIRE DIARIES.
McDermott is best known for his role as lawyer and law firm head Bobby Donnell on the television legal drama The Practice, which earned him a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination, and his role in the series American Horror Story as Dr. Ben Harmon. He also starred in the TNT series Dark Blue as Lt. Carter Shaw.
