In cities across America, local interior designers will square off to complete 10 room makeovers in each episode of HGTV's new series Showhouse Showdown, premiering on Monday, September 12, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. During the series, hosted by popular TV personality and former star of The Bachelor Bob Guiney, two professional designers will take over two newly-built, identical model homes and install their most creative room designs. Armed with the same budget and schedule, the designers will battle it out to impress potential buyers during an open house tour. In the end, the potential buyers will vote for the designer who they believe wins the show house showdown.

The series' first season will feature design showdowns across the United States in cities such as Oklahoma City, Okla.; Stone Ridge, Va.; Wilmington, Del.; Fresno, Calif.; Costa Mesa, Calif.; Houston, Texas; Saginaw, Mich.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Washington, D.C.

Each episode will feature the designers as they install their signature style in up to five spaces in the home, including the master and second bedroom, kitchen, dining room and living room. Before the makeovers begin, the designers must reveal their plans to the homes' developer, who needs the homes' new look to appeal to the tastes of potential buyers. Along the way, Bob will check in and monitor the designers' progress and find out the details behind each design.

"I love being in the middle of the action when I'm hosting Showhouse Showdown," said Guiney. "For the designers, it's a chance of a lifetime to showcase their talent on HGTV. They know they've got to deliver their most ingenious and creative designs to win this competition, but they also come ready to wow the viewers at home. I'm constantly surprised at what they are able to accomplish."
