On Sunday afternoon, Safe Kids Worldwide hosted Safe Kids Day, presented by Nationwide, at The Lot in West Hollywood to raise awareness and funds to stop preventable injuries, the number one cause of death for children in the United States. More than 500 parents and kids boogied on the dance floor, scrambled through the obstacle course and posed for pictures with Lassie as families joined together to celebrate kids, prevent injuries and save lives.

Celebrities turned out in style to support Safe Kids. Drew Barrymore and Rhea Wahlberg read their favorite children's books to guests. Cobi Jones played soccer with the Futboleros, while Malin Akerman slid down our giant slide. Donald Faison broke it down on the dance floor and Mark-Paul Gosselaar practiced swim safety in our giant ball pool. Neal McDonough and Alysia Montano tried their luck at carnival games. Mark Wahlberg, Gavin Rossdale, Keyshawn Johnson, Rebecca Budig, Gunnar Peterson, Will Kopelman, Christie Lynn Smith, Catriona Gosselaar, Ruve McDonough, Louis Montano and Asia Monet Ray also enjoyed exploring all the activities featured at the event. Event co-hosts, Dr. Peter and Laurie Waldstein, joined Kate Carr, President and CEO of Safe Kids Worldwide in welcoming each guest.

With a theme of "Let's Play!" guests were immersed in games that were so fun, they didn't realize they were learning important safety tips. The Nationwide Make Safe Happen mobile experience presented a room-by-room tour to help families learn about protecting kids in the home.

Safe Kids Day is being celebrated at 180 events around the country to promote the prevention of childhood injuries. Earlier in the week, Drew Barrymore was heard echoing the organization's messaging by describing Safe Kids Worldwide on On Air with Ryan Seacrest as a, "life changer, a game changer, and a life saver."
