Leeds trio Drahla are excited to share the video for their new single "Twelve Divisions Of The Day", available now via Captured Tracks. One of Drahla's most visceral and instant tracks to date, "Twelve Divisions Of The Day," blends the band's wiry art-rock with krautrock inspired experimentalism, underpinned by singer/guitarist Luciel Brown's captivating spoken drawl. AdHoc, who premiered the video, say "Full of erratic jump cuts and classic film flicker, the video sits SOMEWHERE BETWEEN Stan Brakhage and Kenneth Anger. Over strident guitar, hammering bass, and thunderous cymbal fills, Luciel Brown apocalyptically vocalizes..."
Speaking on the origins of the clip, Brown states: "The video is an abstracted representation of process and routine. This is depicted through the recreation of the cover artwork and repetitive nature of the content used."

This is the first new music from the band since signing to Brooklyn's Captured Tracks and the release is accompanied by "Twelve Divisions Of The Day" (Black Ribbon Alternate Mix) - an industrial remix of the original track by Leeds producer Tim Metcalfe. Both tracks are available now on 7" clear vinyl. The vinyl edition also comes with a 32 page fanzine created by the band.
Recently the band performed at Robert Smith's Meltdown Festival, alongside The Notwist, and now they're about to embark on an extensive NORTH AMERICA tour alongside Lina Tullgren and Wax Chattels in celebration of Captured Tracks 10 year anniversary for the CTX Tour. The label invited Captured Tracks' more-developmental artists with one or fewer records out, who have recently signed to the label, to play small clubs throughout the US in order to showcase the international aspect of Captured Tracks. Starting on October 18 at Elsewhere Zone 1 in Brooklyn, the tour goes on to hit Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto and more. Tickets for all shows are available now.
Captured Tracks recently compiled all of Drahla's releases so far (two double a-side singles and a four track EP, Third Article) as A Compact Cassette, which is available to purchase on cassette and to stream and download. Produced by Hookworms' MJ, the Third Article EP is also available for purchase as a limited edition one-sided 12".
