Doris Roberts Signs on to ABC's 'Counter Culture'

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emmy award-winner Doris Roberts has been cast in the ABC pilot 'Counter Culture.' The comedy is written by Stephnie Weir, executive produced by Claudia Lonow, and directed by Ted Wass.

Roberts will play the role of Aunt Lee. The comedy "centers on three aging sisters who run their West Texas family diner together with sibling dynamics always getting in the way."

Doris Roberts, who received four Emmys for her comedic turn as Marie Barone during the nine year run of Everybody Loves Raymond and another Emmy for her dramatic portrayal of a homeless woman in St. Elsewhere, has appeared in countless movies and television shows and is a 30-year veteran of Broadway.
