Production has begun in Hollywood, California, on "Crash & Bernstein," a live action comedy series -- with hand puppetry -- that follows Wyatt Bernstein, the only son among four kids, whose new puppet, Crash, comes to life and becomes his loud-mouthed surrogate brother who knows no limits. The multi-camera series is scheduled to premiere in fall 2012 on Disney XD. The puppet was designed and built by Chiodo Brothers Productions, Inc, based in Burbank, California.
Starring are newcomer Cole Jensen as 12-year-old Wyatt; Emmy-nominated puppet master and filmmaker Tim Lagasse ("Johnny and the Sprites," "Between the Lions") as Crash; Oana Gregory ("Lab Rats") as Amanda, Wyatt's popular 16-year-old sister; Landry Bender ("The Sitter") as Cleo, the fashion-forward middle sister; and Aaron Landon ("New Girl") as Pesto, Wyatt's best friend. Recurring is newcomer Mckenna Grace as Jasmine, the 6-year-old and most assertive sister.
Wyatt Bernstein is a typical boy who enjoys hanging out at the local arcade with his friend Pesto. In a household full of females, Wyatt desperately wishes for a brother he could do fun guy stuff with and who would provide him much needed "male reinforcement" at home. When he is reluctantly taken to a Build-A-Bestie store by his family for his birthday, he creates a boy-filled version of a Bestie. Wyatt's dream finally comes true when his creation, Crash, comes to life. Together, the new "brothers" help each other navigate life's experiences - Crash helps Wyatt come out of his shell and Wyatt introduces Crash to life as a kid. Although they sometimes have their differences, like true brothers, they always have each other's back.
"Crash & Bernstein" was created by Eric Friedman ("Austin & Ally," "I'm In The Band"). Friedman and Mike Larsen ("Real Time with Bill Maher," "Rodney") serve as executive producers. "Crash & Bernstein" is a production of It's A Laugh Productions, Inc.
