Disney Junior's THE LION GUARD Hits New Series, Cable Highs

In its most recent Live + 7 preferred viewing ratings, Disney Junior's original animated series "The Lion Guard" roared to series highs in Total Viewers (2.6 million) and Kids 2-11 (1.5 million/3.8 rating) and 6-week highs in Kids 2-5 (823,000/5.3 rating), Boys 2-5 (473,000/6.0 rating) and Women 18-49 (479,000/0.8 rating) - since 2/15/16. On THE WATCH Disney Junior app, "The Lion Guard" is the #2 series with 26.5 million video starts, behind only "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse."

  • "The Lion Guard" is the most co-viewed cable TV series as nearly half of all preschoolers 2-5 (45%) watch with an Adult 18-49.
  • Launch to date, "The Lion Guard" has reached over 36 million Total Viewers including 6.9 million Kids 2-5, representing nearly half of all TV U.S. preschoolers (45%).
  • During 1Q 2016, airings of "The Lion Guard" on both Disney Channel and the 24-hour Disney Junior channel placed among the Top 5 cable TV series in Kids 2-5. Moreover, along with "PJ Masks," "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and "Goldie & Bear," the Disney Junior brand delivered 5 of the Top 11 cable TV series during the quarter.
  • In 2015, the original movie prequel, "The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar" (11/22/15, 7:00 - 7:55 p.m.) ranked as the #1 primetime cable TV telecast of the year among Kids 2-5 (1.7 million/11.1 rating) - and #2 overall in the target demographic - and was the #1 animated telecast across kid cable-TV networks among Total Viewers (6.1 million), Adults 18-49 (2.1 million/1.6 rating) and Kids 2-11 (3.0 million/7.7 rating) - while the series' January 15, 2016 launch became the #1 preschooler series in nearly 2 years Adults 18-49 (632,000/0.5 rating).

WATCH Disney Junior makes full-length episodes of popular Disney Junior shows, games and show-themed activities available to fans on their desktop, mobile and connected TV devices. Viewers who verify with a participating pay TV service can also watch a live stream of the linear channel feed and access exclusive content.
