Disney Channel Sweeps 2013's Second Quarter in Kids 6-11

For 2Q 2013, powered by the largest portfolio of original series for kids and families, including top-rated series "Jessie," "Austin & Ally," "A.N.T. Farm," "Shake It Up" and "Good Luck Charlie," 24-hour kid-dedicated, family-inclusive television network Disney Channel once again topped the charts, ranking as TV's #1 network in Total Day for the 9th consecutive quarter in Kids 6-11 (601,000/2.5 rating - dates back to 2Q11), for the 17th straight quarter in Tweens 9-14 (537,000/2.3 rating - dates back to 2Q09) and was #1 for the 4th time in the previous 6 quarters in Kids 2-11 (921,000/2.3 rating). Moreover, 2Q13 wrapped as the network's most-watched 2Q on record in Tweens 9-14, and 7th quarter overall (out of 69 quarters).

Disney Channel towered over Nickelodeon by at least double digits for the 8th consecutive quarter in Kids 6-11 (+38% - 601,000 vs. 437,000) and Tweens 9-14 (+89% - 537,000 vs. 284,000).

In Prime, Disney Channel extended its dominance as TV's #1 network to 36 consecutive quarters in Kids 6-11 (972,000/4.1 rating) and to 59 straight quarters in Tweens 9-14 (846,000/3.6 rating). On a monthly basis, the network's streak extended to 101 straight months in Kids 6-11 and to 96 straight months in Tweens 9-14.

In June 2013, Disney Channel swept Total Day, ranking as cable TV's #1 network in Total Viewers (1.81 million) and TV's #1 network in Kids 2-11 (995,000/2.5 rating), Kids 6-11 (694,000/2.9 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (627,000/2.6 rating).

Disney Junior, the daily programming block for kids age 2-7 on Disney Channel, recorded 2Q highs in Total Viewers (1.48 million), Girls 2-5 (278,000/3.6 rating) and Women 18-49 (321,000/0.5 rating), and was its highest rated 2Q in Kids 2-5 (3.2 rating). Notably, this marked the network's 3rd consecutive year growing its second quarter audience in Girls 2-5 and 5th in Women 18-49.

• In June 2013, the final month of the quarter, "Sofia the First" ranked as cable TV's #1 series in Kids 2-5 (706,000/4.4 rating) and Girls 2-5 (423,000/5.4 rating), and was the #1 preschool cable TV series in Total Viewers (2.22 million) and Women 18-49 (403,000/0.6 rating).

o In fact, the block delivered the month's Top 4 preschool cable TV series in Viewers with "Sofia the First" (2.22 million), "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" (1.87 million), "Doc McStuffins" (1.86 million) and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" (1.78 million).

• On June 28, "Sofia the First" (9:00 - 9:30 a.m.) soared to a series high in Boys 2-5 (482,000/5.9 rating), delivered its #2 original telecast ever in Total Viewers (2.66 million), and its most-watched original telecast in over 4 months in Kids 2-5 (1.03 million/6.4 rating - since 2/22/13).

In its first quarter of publicly reported ratings, 24-hour Disney Junior Channel ranked as 2Q's #1 preschool TV network in Total Viewers (358,000), Kids 2-5 (186,000/1.2 rating), Boys 2-5 (106,000/1.3 rating) and Women 18-49 (69,000), winning each week throughout the quarter in the preschooler demos and 12 out of 13 weeks in Total Viewers.

Disney Junior Channel exceeded Nick Jr. by double digits in target demos: by 11% in Total Viewers (358,000 vs. 323,000), by 17% in Kids 2-5 (186,000 vs. 159,000) and by 36% in Boys 2-5 (106,000 vs. 78,000), despite being in 16.4 million fewer homes.

Disney Junior Channel towered over Sprout by triple digits in key categories, including by 145% in Total Viewers (358,000 vs. 146,000), by 178% in Kids 2-5 (186,000 vs. 67,000), by 293% in Boys 2-5 (106,000 vs. 27,000) and by 109% in Women 18-49 (69,000 vs. 33,000).
